Drivers Alert: Weeklong Roadwork to Impact Traffic in Upper Merion

PennDOT will close lanes in Upper Merion Township for roadwork next week. Gulph Road at the West Valley Forge Road/Route 23 intersection will have closures Monday through Friday, both overnight and during the day. Flint Hill Road/Jefferson Street will also see closures from Tuesday through Friday, limited to daytime hours. Drivers should anticipate delays, with all work contingent on weather conditions. Closure times are 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Norristown High Speed Line and Bus Routes Could Halt as Contract Deadline Looms

SEPTA is engaged in critical labor negotiations with two unions, TWU Local 234 and SMART Local 1594, both of which could disrupt transit services if agreements are not reached. SMART’s contract expires on Nov. 18, and its members have authorized a strike. Both unions are seeking wage increases and safety measures, while SEPTA faces financial strain and a history of frequent labor disputes. Paratransit services will remain operational during any potential strike.

Skimming Devices Found at Six Royal Farms Locations in Delaware Valley

Skimming devices were discovered at six Royal Farms locations in Montgomery and Delaware counties, prompting a warning for customers to check their financial statements. The devices, which steal card information, were found in stores in Glenolden, Broomall, Collegeville, Norristown, Kulpsville, and North Wales. Authorities recommend using contactless payments or cash to avoid being targeted, while investigations into the incidents continue.
