Seven Public Meetings Scheduled in Upper Merion This Week

Only two agendas were available Sunday evening, while no municipal meetings are scheduled in Bridgeport or West Conshohocken.

Seven public meetings are scheduled across the Upper Merion area during the week of Sept. 14, all of them in Upper Merion Township.

The Library Board of Directors and Media Communications Advisory Board will meet Monday, followed by four township boards and authorities Tuesday and the Shade Tree and Beautification Commission on Wednesday.

Only two of the seven meeting agendas were publicly available as of Sunday evening.

Monday, Sept. 14

Library Board of Directors

The Upper Merion Library Board of Directors will meet from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. at the township building, 175 W. Valley Forge Road.

The board’s agenda includes discussion of the library’s 2027 budget, an October reading challenge, an Academy of Natural Sciences item and several upcoming closure dates.

The library is scheduled to close early Oct. 6 for National Night Out. The board will also discuss possible early closures Oct. 10 for a Saturday afternoon concert and Oct. 21 for a Zoning Hearing Board meeting.

The agenda also includes updates on fall programming, library resources and staff.

Media Communications Advisory Board

The Media Communications Advisory Board will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at the township building.

The board is scheduled to review the township’s latest website and social-media analytics and receive an update on its use of the Bluesky social-media platform.

Other agenda items include:

  • The township’s new CivicPlus website chatbot, which went live Sept. 1

  • A possible location for a second township LED sign

  • A recreation of the Washington Winter Encampment mural currently located on the Colonial Electric building

  • The inaugural recipient of the Howard Hoffman Distinguished Service Award

  • A vacancy on the advisory board

The mural recreation was commissioned by Upper Merion’s Semiquincentennial Ad Hoc Committee and is expected to be painted by Bridgeport muralist John Lewis.

Tuesday, Sept. 15

Four Upper Merion meetings are scheduled Tuesday:

  • Sanitary and Stormwater Authority, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

  • Farmers Market Advisory Board, 7 to 9 p.m.

  • Historical Commission, 7 to 9 p.m.

  • Community Center Complex Advisory Board, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.

No agendas for those meetings were publicly available through the township’s Agenda Center as of Sunday evening.

The missing agendas make it unclear what new matters, if any, the four bodies will consider.

Wednesday, Sept. 16

Shade Tree and Beautification Commission

The Shade Tree and Beautification Commission will meet from 7 to 9 p.m.

No agenda was publicly available as of Sunday evening.

The Upper Merion Zoning Hearing Board had also been scheduled to meet Wednesday, but the township calendar now identifies that meeting as canceled.

No Meetings in Bridgeport or West Conshohocken

Bridgeport Borough does not list any public meetings between Sept. 14 and 20. Its next listed meeting is the Finance Committee meeting on Monday, Sept. 21.

West Conshohocken also has no municipal meeting scheduled this week. Its Zoning Hearing Board is scheduled to meet Monday, Sept. 21, if needed.
