Two national retailers will soon be leaving DeKalb Plaza in King of Prussia, marking a significant change for one of the township's long-standing shopping centers.

Hobby Lobby is expected to close its King of Prussia store on August 22, according to information shared with customers by store employees. Store staff have indicated that operations from the DeKalb Plaza location are being shifted to support a new store in the Allentown/Lehigh Valley region.

Now, Lakeshore Learning has also confirmed it is leaving the shopping center. A sign posted at the store announces the King of Prussia location will permanently close on October 3, directing customers to the company's Cherry Hill store and online shopping options.

The two closures will leave prominent vacancies at DeKalb Plaza within just a few weeks of one another.

At this time, neither company has publicly announced what will become of the soon-to-be vacant spaces.

For shoppers who frequent Hobby Lobby, the next closest locations are in Springfield and Horsham. Lakeshore Learning customers are being directed to the company's Cherry Hill store or its website.

As of publication, no redevelopment plans or new tenants for the affected storefronts have been announced.
