The question of what will replace Hobby Lobby in King of Prussia now has a confirmed answer.

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace plans to open a 57,820-square-foot grocery store at 320 W. DeKalb Pike in DeKalb Plaza, according to new reporting from the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The store will be Uncle Giuseppe’s first location in Pennsylvania and is expected to open in late 2027.

The confirmation follows several weeks of local interest surrounding the future of the Hobby Lobby space, which closed on August 22.

After news of the closing surfaced, one Upper Merion Township supervisor indicated publicly that a new tenant had already been secured and that an official announcement was expected soon.

Later, another township supervisor publicly shared that Uncle Giuseppe’s was the incoming tenant.

Now, the Philadelphia Business Journal has reported the company’s plans and provided additional details about the King of Prussia location.

Founded on Long Island in 2001, Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace currently operates 13 stores in New York and Northern New Jersey.

The Italian grocery market is known for making fresh mozzarella, pasta and baked goods in-house and in view of customers.

Its stores also offer specialty cheeses, imported Italian products, full-service meat and seafood departments, an Italian deli, prepared foods, fresh produce and traditional grocery items.

The King of Prussia store will mark Uncle Giuseppe’s first location in Pennsylvania. Its closest existing store to the Philadelphia region is in Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

The new King of Prussia store is expected to create between 250 and 300 jobs, according to the Business Journal.

The publication reports that hiring for the new location has already begun.

Additional details about the store are expected to be announced closer to its anticipated late-2027 opening.

Uncle Giuseppe’s isn't the only new business headed to DeKalb Plaza.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers also plans to open a restaurant in the shopping center.

The arrival of Uncle Giuseppe’s will also add another grocery destination along W. DeKalb Pike. Trader Joe’s opened nearby at 224 W. DeKalb Pike in 2024, while Uncle Giuseppe’s will occupy the former Hobby Lobby space at 320 W. DeKalb Pike.

Italian marketplace Eataly opened at the King of Prussia Mall in 2025, offering another nearby destination focused heavily on Italian food and specialty products.

But the King of Prussia opening represents a new milestone for Uncle Giuseppe’s itself: the company’s first expansion into Pennsylvania.
