Good Morning, Upper Merion Area👋

I feel like a lot has transpired since my previous newsletter. 3 snow events, great playoff football, AMAZING national championship (this born and bred Hoosier is STILL on cloud 9) and now my house is full of cookies! No rest for the weary I suppose.

Speaking of cookies and snow events…there will be more this weekend! I highly encourage you to follow my Facebook Page. I do my level best to be helpful to the community by giving folks an opportunity to share valuable information. For example, I’m currently working on a list of contractors who have availability for snow removal and/or plowing this weekend. I’m also working on curating a list of cookie booth locations in the area. If you’re in need of either, head on over there. Both of those will be featured at the top.

In Today’s Spotlight

First Responders Unite in Support of One of Their Own

Benefit for Lauren Stott Gilbert — A Community Gathering of Police, Fire, EMS, friends and family to Rally Behind a Beloved Local

OAKS, PA — January 25, 2026 – In an extraordinary show of solidarity, compassion and support, friends, family and local first responders from across the region are coming together on Sunday, January 25 to support Lauren Stott Gilbert, a cherished member of the community facing a life-altering challenge after being diagnosed with Stage 4C Signet-Ring Cell Adenocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive type of colorectal cancer. Lauren is the mother of two children, ages 5 and 4, and the wife of a local Lower Merion Township Police Officer, Dan Gilbert, who is also a former volunteer and career firefighter.

The Benefit for Lauren Stott Gilbert will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center & Fairgrounds, Hall E in Oaks, PA, a venue chosen to accommodate the hundreds expected to attend. The event is being organized by Fighting Forward, in partnership with the Montgomery County Hero Fund, with support from local first responder organizations and community partners, featuring food, raffles, and live entertainment from the Juliano Brothers and the Blitz Band.

A Unified Front: Local first responders from various fire companies, police departments, EMS squads, in addition to local community and professional organizations from across the region have pledged support — volunteering their time, resources, and presence to make the day unforgettable. Attendees will have the chance to meet first responders in a spirit of camaraderie, enjoy community activities, and contribute to critical fundraising efforts that will help with medical expenses and ongoing family needs.

What to Expect: Live entertainment, raffles, auctions, food, music, and an opportunity to meet local first responders. Fundraising to support Lauren and her family during this incredible journey. All net proceeds will go directly toward assisting Lauren and her family.
