💡Upper Merion Area Spotlight | Monday, July 6th
A quick look at what's happening around the Upper Merion Area today
☀️ Today’s Weather

Good morning, neighbors. 👋
Here's today's small collection of things worth your attention.
💡In The Spotlight
🚂 Big Boy Return Could Bring Traffic Delays to Bridgeport Monday
Big Boy 4014 is expected to pass back through the area Monday as it travels through central and western Pennsylvania. The Borough of Bridgeport Police Department has advised drivers of possible closures and detours between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and there will be no public access during the train's stay at Abrams Yard.
🎆 Township Working to Reschedule Canceled Fireworks
Last Saturday's Independence Day celebration ended early due to severe weather, and the planned fireworks display was canceled. While a makeup date has not yet been announced, the Parks & Recreation Department is working to reschedule the show. We'll continue monitoring updates and will share any announcements on our app for KOP LOCALS and our Facebook page as soon as they're available.
🚧 Reminder: Route 23 Lane Closures Begin Tomorrow
A reminder that weekday lane closures on Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Beidler Road and Mancill Mill Road begin July 7 and continue through September 30, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. PennDOT will be applying a high-friction surface treatment to help reduce crashes, so drivers should expect backups and allow extra travel time.
⭐Area Favorites
Before you settle in to watch USA vs. Belgium tonight, there are couple of local food specials to check out. On Mondays, kids eat free at Bald Birds, and Screwballs has its Monday wing special. Looking for a watch party? The fun at Nor-View Farm begins at 2 p.m., just don't forget to bring a chair. For you Ribhouse faithfuls, the cheesesteaks and Bingo will have to wait until next week….they are closed today for an employee picnic.
Hope your week gets off to a great start!
Thanks for spending a couple of minutes with me.
