🚲 Mark Your Calendar | Ridin’ with the Cops Returns August 5

Here's one to put on your calendar. The Upper Merion Township Police Department is hosting its annual "Ridin' with the Cops" community bike ride on Wednesday, August 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. Riders will enjoy a four-mile ride with local officers, treats along the way, and a chance to win a bicycle. The first 75 people to register will also receive a free event T-shirt.

📜 A Little Throwback Thursday

The King of Prussia Historical Society recently shared a look back at Upper Merion's 1976 Bicentennial celebration. From parades and concerts to community plays and even a Ben Franklin puppet show, it's a fun reminder of how our community celebrated America's 200th birthday.

If you enjoy local history, I definitely recommend following the King of Prussia Historical Society’s facebook page. They share stories like this every Friday.

🎭 Popular Middle School Musical Adds a New Cast

There's another chance for local students to join 13 the Musical Jr. this fall. After the original cast filled up, a new Monday cast has been added for students in grades 7 through 10, giving more young performers the opportunity to be part of the production. You can register here.

Thursday has a way of feeling like the unofficial start of the weekend. Here's what's happening in the area today:

• KOP Chess Club meets at Hibachi Valley Forge

• Pork specials at Screwballs

• Chick-Fil-A is having a sampling hour (2 hours actually) from 2-4 AND bouquet making later in the evening.

• Open Mic Comedy at Midtown Social

• Live Music at Screwballs, The Ribhouse, Peppers, Gypsy Saloon, and on the Green at the Town Center.
