🥵 Heat Wave Prompts Schedule Changes Across the Area

Extreme heat is continuing to impact local businesses and celebrations. Elmwood Park Zoo will close at 1 p.m. through Friday, Bald Birds Brewing Company has announced its taproom will be closed today and tomorrow, and Lower Providence Township has now cancelled all of their July 4th celebrations and fireworks planned for Saturday.

🌲Valley Forge Park Marks Independence Day and 50th Anniversary

Valley Forge National Historical Park will celebrate Independence Day weekend, July 3 through 5, with special events honoring America's 250th birthday and the park's 50th anniversary. Visitors can park once and use a free shuttle to explore living history demonstrations, Declaration of Independence readings, live performances, historical interpreters, and family activities throughout the park.

🎥 Beat the Heat with $1 Family Movies at Regal

Looking for a way to stay cool today? Feels like a good time to remind you that Regal’s Summer Movie Express offers $1 family movies Monday through Thursday at 11 a.m. through August 13, making it an affordable indoor option while the heat sticks around.

The weather isn’t the only thing heating up around here. In my opinion, Thursday evenings may as well be considered the start of the weekend. You have live music options at the Town Center, Screwballs, The Ribhouse, Peppers, 118 North, and the Gypsy Saloon. If you’re looking for a few laughs, check out Open Mic Comedy at Midtown Social. If games are more your speed, the King of Prussia Chess Club meets tonight at Hibachi Valley Forge and there’s bingo at The Depot Bar and the Swedeland Social Hall.
