Automated license plate readers are operating around Upper Merion, and the technology is drawing increasing attention across Pennsylvania over public safety, privacy and data access.

We reviewed Upper Merion Police policy, local records and mapped camera locations to break down what we know, including how long some plate data is retained, as well as what questions still remain about the fixed cameras residents may see around the township.

🚶 Valley Forge Gateway Trail Partnership Launches in King of Prussia Wednesday

A new coalition focused on advancing the proposed Valley Forge Gateway Trail is holding its launch event Wednesday from 10-11 at Recharge Park, 680 Freedom Business Center Drive in King of Prussia.

Attendees will hear from community leaders, project partners and elected officials about the vision for the trail, its potential regional impact and the effort to move the project forward. The event will also include the unveiling of a public art campaign designed to build awareness and support.

🌱 EAC to Discuss Possible Code Changes Tuesday

Upper Merion’s Environmental Advisory Council will take up a broad list of possible code reforms Tuesday night, including AI data centers, a gas leaf blower ban, parking reform, new construction requirements and new rules for cutting down trees.

The agenda also lists electrification, EV-ready and solar-ready infrastructure, naturalized landscapes and balcony solar among the topics for discussion.
