GEORGE SEARFOSS LEGACY DAY & 60TH BIRTHDAY!

The Searfoss family along with the Love Works Resource Center and Hope Community Church invite you to join us for a special LEGACY DAY honoring George Searfoss, who died on September 11, 2024.

George's passion project was the Love Works Resource Center, which was founded to reach the underserved in our community - one person & one family at a time. Read more about the LWRC HERE.

On September 20th - which would have been George's 60th birthday - they are honoring George's legacy by throwing the party he would have wanted:

1. A morning of community SERVICE (called Love Works Super Saturday), with a variety of incredible service opportunities for the whole family!

2. A celebration LUNCH that welcomes anyone & everyone! This includes a bounce house and face-painter for the kids!

MDP COMMUNITY CARNIVAL

🎡Get ready for family fun at the Mother of Divine Providence Church Community Carnival! From September 4th to 7th, enjoy live music, rides, games, and themed food nights. Don’t miss the chance to win a $ 5,000 raffle prize! 🎟️

QUEEN OF PRUSSIA 10K AND 5K

🏃‍♀️As I’m writing this, it looks like th 5K is sold out, but you can still register for the Queen of Prussia 10K run happening on Sunday, September 7th at the King of Prussia Town Center.

THE HISTORY OF SCHOOL IN THE UPPER MERION AREA

As summer fades, it's back to school time! The King of Prussia Historical Society reflects on the evolution of education in Upper Merion, from grassroots beginnings with teachers boarding in homes to the transformative Common School Act of 1834. Notable landmarks like the Old Gulph School House and Letitia Penn School highlight this rich history. By 1836, Upper Merion had seven schools serving 868 students, paving the way for modern education.

🏃‍♂️‍➡️Bridgeport Borough is seeking volunteers for the 2025 Bridgeport 5K on Saturday, October 4, starting at 7:30 AM. Volunteers will serve as race marshals, ensuring safety along the course and guiding runners. Participants receive free 5K shirts and gift bags!
